Heh, all I can tell you is that it's green. I bet you already knew that.
eeeee... I stink at plants. I agree with Lotus that it looks maple-y, but is it definitely a tree? Now, if you were posting pictures of unknown *birds,* I could be a lot more helpful!
It's definitely not a tree - more like a tall native-y prairie (?) plant.
There are a couple of small leaves behind the larger one, farther back along the stem. You can see the flower if you click through the link.
Hmmmm.
These leaves are palmate, and I think they are twice palmately compound. If you send me a flower I'll disect it for you and tell you all about the gynecium etc.
Or, just get a key (ie. I don't know what the heck it is.
