Regarding our mouthy dog - we definitely try not to encourage it and usually respond by either yelping, ignoring, finger on the tongue etc. Her mouthing has become worse just recently, I think due to her being excited about cooler weather. I think we need to start being more consistent again with the techniques...
It seems to be related to attention getting and wanting to play rather than being aggressive. Annoying though.
